A note to all those who play udm on winquake - you need to remove two files from your
udm\progs directory in order for udm to work on winquake , the two files are b_rock0.bsp and b_rock1.bsp. Strangely, these are the files
that seemed to cause udm to crash winquake. After removing them, udm will work perfectly on winquake.
The guy who mailed me and said he couldn't get udm to run on glquake on his voodoo 2 card last week told me that he managed to get it running
somehow by updating his drivers. He was using a magic3d voodoo2 card and used the creative voodoo 2 drivers instead (since magic3d has closed down).
Odd, but it's worth getting the latest drivers (or maybe creative's voodoo 2 drivers instead) to get UDM running on Glquake :)
This week's maps of the week has been delayed, i'm a little busy at the moment but i'm sure you guys won't mind since not many of you bother to download them...

This week's maps of the weeks
has been updated. I'd highly recommend you to download all of the maps
especially Cold Halls by Vondur, as it is a very good map in
my opinion to play with UDM. It has some large space around unlike other
maps that i have seen. Jexdm1 by JexJackl from the first week
is also quite a large one, give them both a try.
UDM has been finally reviewed for once by Koolio from Modcentral.
Click
here to check out the review. It's quite a good read
really although i have to disagree with Koolio on the homing missile
and the bot movement. In my opinion the homing missile is balanced as
it is much slower than a normal rocket launcher and takes up 4 rockets
to fire one homing missile. If you are good at aiming, i'm sure you
won't use the homing missile unnecessarily. I did not use norse_movetogoal
for the bots movement, the thing that slowed down UDM is most probably
the visible weapons. I have set my vid_mode to 0 and it was smooth actually,
no idea why Koolio had low frame rates.
to get the sample config files that you can make use as an example while
playing UDM which has a number of direct weapon change impulses. It's
good to use them as it allows you to switch between the weapons that
you use most frequently through aliases and binds.

Sorry for the delays on the maps of the week, but i was busy getting UDM 1.5b ready for a release and there's nothing to show but a finished
product of course. You can get the latest version of UDM which is 1.5b that has some new models and sounds from various mods, a new weapon that replaces the nailgun - the Pulse Rifle,
some small bug fixes and the reaper bot will now be able to use Wind Tunnels and the bot model can now "yaw" like a real player could (was once a feature that Steven Polge wanted to implement
before he went to work for Epic).
The second thing is the maps of the week, from this week onwards i will post at least 2 quality maps with screenshots for downloading. This week there are 5 maps that i have selected that uses
the Quake 3 Arena textures, they do look groovy so go and grab them at the Maps Of The Week section !
I'd appreciate any feedback/comments/suggestions that you would like to give me, i haven't received much feedback on UDM yet but i hope that will change in the future. Not to mention that
no-one uses the Discussion Forums at the moment. There's still a small problem with GLQUAKE and UDM as one user reported, it didn't work on his Voodoo 2. So far the only card that has been tested
with is the Voodoo 3 and it works according to Randar. If you happen to have an idea what causes UDM to crash on GLQUAKE , do let me know.

It is FINALLY here ! Yes ! The latest version of Ultimate Devastation MOD ! After beta testing it for
some time, it is now released to the public ! Go grab it right NOW. This new version has many bug fixes, enhancements and balancing issues straightened out.
It also includes 5 new weapons (YES!) that is the Grappling Hook, Gatling Gun (replaced the ricochet nailgun), Shrapnel Launcher, Rocket Pods and the Devastator !
I would like to thank three guys who have helped me greatly during the development of UDM 1.5. Firstly i would like to thank Raymond Siah, who is now UDM's official
beta tester for some time has helped provide neat suggestions and bug reports, Randar for beta testing UDM 1.5 in GlQuake to make sure it works fine and lastly but not the
least, Alex Perry for giving some sound suggestions to put into UDM 1.5 especially the new homing rocket launcher model taken from AzPak by Azure. The map of the week should
begin some time tomorrow or in between this week, till then - Enjoy UDM 1.5 !
PS : If you haven't noticed, the screenshots have been updated - have a look at the screenshots before or while downloading UDM 1.5 :)

I just hate that guy who modelled the playerag.mdl file !
This file is the file that causes GlQuake to crash, if you happen to have it , delete it. It's inside the udm/progs
directory. Once you delete it, it won't cause GlQuake to crash again. Along with that i have released a small fix
for 1.2 that fixes a small bug that displays the episode runes after the player is killed/telefragged. Sorry for all the
confusion and problems, i'll try to be more careful in the future :)

It's here ! The latest version
of Ultimate Devastation MOD. It includes 4 new weapons, 1 new rune, some new
sounds taken from Quake 2 and Warbot, telefrag reduction code, radar and a
map cycler that randomizes up to 15 maps (all these are new features since
UDM 1.1). This version should also fix the
GlQuake crash bug that was actually caused by a .mdl file (damn). Anyway
go get it right now. I will add the map of the week after my final exams
in about 2-3 weeks time. Enjoy !

Just a short update here
- i got a mailing list up for those who want to subscribe to it go ahead
and do so to receive update notification when this page is updated.
There's also a Discussion forum up, you can post your comments, suggestions,
tips, hints or almost anything regarding Quake or UDM at the forum.
Besides that, the links section has been updated.
As for GLQuake, i managed to fix the problem and the next release of
UDM will fix the GLQuake crashing problem. Expect the new version to
be released quite soon. Stay tuned.

As promised, i present you
the latest version of Ultimate Devastation MOD ! Grab it at the downloads
section along with the two latest map packs. I'm still looking for more
beta testers, especially those who have GLQuake (i don't have a 3d card
so i can't test UDM on GLQuake, therefore this version MAY yet crash
GLQuake, i'm not sure. There's more to come in the next few days and
the following weeks with map of the week stuff and also polls stuff.
I'll get a mailing list up on the next update if possibile. Till then,
stay tuned ! Make sure you read the readme.txt while downloading UDM,
it's essential !

After more than one month
of inactivity, i present you 4 demos of the upcoming Ultimate Devastation
MOD 1.1. I've been working very hard for the past few weeks and the
results were fascinating. This new version of UDM that should be released
hopefully by end of this week is going to rock. Head over to the downloads
section and grab the huge 5.6 megs UDM 1.1 Demo. It's big because i
had to put in all the models and sounds inside because of the Kascam
Deathmatch Camera that i used to record the demos with.
The upcoming new version has a total of 12 new weapons (5 new ones from
previous version), new deathmatch modes ranging from Last Man Standing
to Deathmatch 8, better bot talking, and a whole bunch of stuff and
i think there's twice the amount of features since UDM 1.0 ! Get ready
for the weekend :)

Ultimate Devastation MOD
1.0 is finally here ! Get it at the downloads section. Don't forget
to read the readme file as well ! Anyone who wants to be a beta tester
or who can record great demos, do contact me. That's all for now.
For those who have downloaded UDM earlier, please download the small
patch that has been released at the downloads section, unzip it to your
udm directory and overwrite the progs.dat file. It's just a small bug
that doesn't enable the bot rocket jumping mode by default, nothing
real big.

Welcome
to the Ultimate Devastation MOD homepage, finally up and hosted by Botepidemic.
This site features the current MOD that i'm working which comes with
new weapons, new sounds, new models and incorporation with the Reaper
bots. There's also a lot of improvements that have been made to the
Reaper bot following the Inside 3d tutorials, there's actually a lot
to it, but i can only explain this much till you actually see it.
If you happen to be good at Quake C and are willing to help me, please
do contact me, i do need people who can help me "improve"
the Reaper Bot even further. I also need beta testers for this project,
again feel free to contact me if you would like to be a beta tester.
Also needed are people who can record great demos with the bots showing
UDM's features :)
I have actually been doing Quake C since the last two years, active
at that time and i even created a MOD which is quite similar to this
one with the Reaper Bot as well. However, when i decided to stop the
project, i DID NOT save the source code onto a disk, and all the hard
work coding was lost...Now i am back and i'm trying to regain what is
lost.
Tomorrow i shall release Ultimate Devastation MOD and at the meantime
you can take a look at the few screenshots i've taken. L8r.
