The Reaper Bot is a widely known bot and was once regarded as the best Quake bot in the business, but it has now been taken over by many of the newer Quake bots and can't hold its own against many of them but is still quite fun to play around with. It was discontinued some time ago.
Steven never got to finish the bot, otherwise it could very well of been the best bot for a lot longer than it was. The Reaper Bot boasts a fair amount of neat features, including dynamic level learning, an understanding of triggers and buttons and much more.
Like I said before, the Reaper Bot uses a technique of navigation called dynamic level learning, in which the bot learns the level as it plays it, getting better if it plays for a longer period of time. The bot plays, deathmatch and teamplay but unfortunately the author was unable to implement co-op support before the discontinuation of the bot in 1996.
The Reaper Bot has very decent combat AI, it will charge, strafe, circle strafe, it chooses its weapon depending on how close it is to the enemy and will try to avoid combat if low on health/armor. These are just a handful of its many excellent combat features. It is a fairly intelligent bot but will occasionally do something drastically stupid.
Whilst, the Reaper Bot cannot hold its own against many of the newer Quake bots, it is rather enjoyable if you feel like a good little game of Quake. Not being very difficult to beat it won't be a very intense match but rather a relaxing game of Quake, this may not to appeal to you however. I suggest you grab a copy and see for yourself.
