This application lets you modify "stupid.cfg".
Where 9 bots can be configured for use in Deathmatch.
Geisya is now capable of using downloaded PMP
Models as bots for you to fight against!
To run this, simply locate your STUPID folder inside
your Quake2 Directory, and inside you will find
'StupidUtility.exe'. Double click on it, or
run it.
You'll be brought into a very simple and effective
utility to quickly and easily configure the 9 bots
for your DM games. In the list on the
left, you'll see the names of the pre configured bots already
provided by the author. You can either click
on one to edit it. Or select a name in the list and hit
the insert bot at the bottom of the window.
On the right you will see four fields. One titled:
This is where you enter the name of the bot. This is
how it will appear in the game.
[ ie. Ponko -- which is the name of the 9th(or last) bot
in the list. ]
Lets you select a model from your current models list inside
your Quake2/baseq2/players/ directory.
[ ie. Cyborg, or CrackHor, Battloid, Tyrant, etc, etc. ]
Is where you can pick a skin from the specified model directory
to use on the bot.
(Warning, if the name of the skin is more than 8 characters
long. You'll see a name~1 or ~2 at the end of it.
These will not work in the current version of Stupid.
And will default to the male model. So if you really want to use
that skin, rename it!)
[ ie. If the model was set to Female, then names of skins like :
cobalt, Ensign, and Voodoo ] -- would be here.
Select Bot's skill. This can be set to Easy, Normal, or
Hard.
Click on one of the bots in the list on the left. Then
hit the Insert button on the bottom, and a generic
'Bot' will appear in the list. Just go to the fields
to the right; and give it a name, a model, and a specific
skin to go along with it. then set the skill, and you've
just configured a bot to use! (make sure you don't
go over 9 bots)
If you select a name from the list and hit the Delete
button, it will remove that bot from the list.
Will exit and save new settings to Stupid.cfg file. Then
you just need to run the Stupid Bot. And type in
impulse (1-9) for the corresponding bot to be spawned.
Exit without saving.
I hope this has provided you with all the information
you needed to get this excellent bot up and running.
