CTF Bots
play with Loki
Instructions
(As if you need
them...but just in case)
Ok, Here's
the disclaimer:
1. You will not be playing
with any of Loki's Minion CTF code (no offhand grapple, no special
laser fire, etc....)
2. You will be using
THREEWAVE CTF that ERASER & CRBot are merged with.
3. You will only be
getting to use:
Loki's
Minion CTF
-
Graphics(those for
the flag, and map textures, and new models)
-
Sounds(when flag is
captured, new grapple, etc.)
-
Maps(of course, all
10 of em!)
Which is reason enough damn it!
Here's what you'll
need:

ya know, Zoid's gift to all of Quakedom. Get it from PlantQuake also. |

Currently Eraser

supporte CTF play. Go grab the current verisons. |
| Pak Explorer |
We are only going to discuss this pak program. Any PAK
utility will do though. |
Will suppose you
have the newest version of Quake2. But if not, go get from the Downloads
now!
Instructions:
You've
already extracted Threewave and Loki's CTF so lets get down to what needs
to happen.
1.
For ERASER use the Pak Explorer to extract the 'pics' directory from the
PAK5.pak into the Eraser folder.(This is the one that came with Eraser)
Then delete the pak file.(PAK5.pak) -- This is moving the Eraser Console
background so its not overwritten.
2.
For Eraser & CRBot copy PAK4.pak & PAK5.pak from the LMCTF folder
into the Eraser or CRBOT folder. (Watch your drive
space,
PAK5 is 34megs
alone. So your looking at atleast an extra 80megs needed!)
3.
Ok your done. Oh, yeah you might want the map names huh! Just
run your favorite CTF Bot, go to the console & type:
map
LMCTFxx
(where
xx = 01 thru 10)
Thats
it.
You'll
see the new Loki logo's for the Wolf and the Lion in place of where ever
the Hammer & Bolt were.
(on
any CTF map now. Including those of Threewave.)
If this
bothers you, you can either move the Loki CTF pak files into a seperate
directory, or
rename
the '.pak, extension to something else. If you want the old CTF textures
back.(this will
disable
all the Loki's Minion stuff INCLUDING the MAPS! Unless you extract
them!)
NOTES:
All
your old commands for Grapple, and weapon switch, etc. will be the same
as before.
The
icons will still be the hammer & bolts. (ie. team indicators and such!)
ERASER
path.nodes. We all need'em!!!
So
get busy, and make sure there good before you send them off
to
SUBHUMAN or SKULLPLATE's
PAGES.
