       ***** Introduction *****

Hello, welcome to my first Tutorial. I'll show you now, how to change the Skins in Frogbot or other normal Quake Bots. You must change the Player.mdl in your Mod directory only, if the MOD will have one. But in the most Mods you dont have a player.mdl. Because the Mod is using the original player.mdl in the id1 folder pak files, and the original is only for one player, dont change the original. If you change the original, you will be get an ** WARNING ** message at QW Servers !!!

So there is some stuff that you will need to make a cool Player.mdl !

You will need this stuff:
-------------------------
- player.mdl for more skins ->
- QuakeMe2, its a mdl editor so you can import the new Skins into the mdl file
- FrogBot Edit Ver. 1.7, to change the skin settings in a frogbot bot file (dont use Ver. 1.8, ive got many probs with it)
- some cool Qw skins (they are in pcx format)
- a Grafik prog to change the Qwskins (.pcx) to skins for a mdl file (.bmp).
- hmm, I think that must be all you need.

Here you can find the stuff:
---------------------------
FrogBot Edit Ver.1.7   ->

Player.mdl                     ->

     ***** Introduction END ******

      ***** Getting Started ******

Ok, I hope you got all the stuff, when not, send me a mail and I will give you the stuff.

First go to you Mod directory and make a folder named "Progs", but perhaps the MOD will have it already.
You must copy now the new player.mdl file in this "Progs" folder.

Now we must (want) include you favorite Skins into the new player.mdl
Change all cool skins you want to use, from .pcx to .bmp files. I use Grafik Workshop95 for that procedure.
Ready ??, ok now you must start QuakeMe2 and open the new player.mdl.
Now you will see the first skin in that Model file, its a base skin. I dont changed the first skin (base)
so you will see all REAL Players in a Base skin.

Now you can srcoll through the mdl file to import all the skins you want to add.
There are two small scroll buttons (red in my screenshot)

If you have imported all your skins into that mdl file, save and close it.
Now you must start Frogbot Edit, at the first start you must choose your bot file folder
Normaly its here "FrogBot\Bots" or in my newest MOD in "FrogBotMOD1\Bots"
Now you can choose the bot files and you can change the skin settings and ofcourse, you can make cool Names too.
You must activate the skin function, and now you can / must set the skin number in the player.mdl, but note its a trick.

Example:
---------
You want set the skin from bot xxx  to skin 11 in the player.mdl so you must set in the bot file the number to 10 !!!
I dont know why, but you must do it so
Hehehe

And if you want, you can set the same skins for QW too, then you must copy the QW Skins (.pcx) to
"Quake\QW\Skins" and you will see the same skins in QW too.

Now set the skins to all the bot files and safe them.

And Note if you play now the MOD with the new skin settings, all REAL Players in the LAN must have the same Player.mdl in their MOD too.
If they dont have the same player.mdl, they cant connect to your NQ Server !!!!

Thats all, lets start your bots and frag some bots in cool skins !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And of course, FRAG some for me too.
HEHEHE

That was all, if you have some tips or questions mail it to

Good Hunt , Good Frag
Happy Gibbing
