MaNiAc's
MaNiAcbot review
First of all, this is not a modification of Frogbot. Just keep that in mind. I've included this bot in my page because I liked some features in it. The bot itself it is not the kind of bot I'd like to play 1on1 against. Its movement around the maps isn't nearly as good as Frogbot's (mainly because there are no waypoints included in the bot), No customizes, exept rl_pref, which tells bot whether to use a roclet launcher or a shaft as a main weapon. So MaNiAcbot v1.2 isn't a good deathmatch bot. Some might say 'Why do you review this bot in your page, then?' That's why: it has a few exellent features, which would really make Frogbot more interesting and (Human-like?). First of all I'd like to mention bot's ability to play cooperative mode. Since frogbot doesn't support any single player maps, this option may seem to be impossible. But the next version should come out with switches, lifts and water support, which kinda makes cooperative play possible (All of you Quake-C geniuses, think about it :)) The second neat feature in MaNiAcbot is its ability to circle strafe around an opponent, while shooting at him. Switch to kascam mode and you'll see what I mean. When it comes to a head-to-head battle in deathmatch, the bot starts strafing, jumping, and is less predictable in his actions than Frogbot. (I can't say that about the roaming around the map, Frogbot is simply unbeatable in this kind of stuff.) MaNiAcbot even is able to push buttons and use lifts, but he poorly 'understands' what does it mean. The last thing about the MaNiAcbot is skill 3 mode. This is what I could really call NIGHTMARE. I'd like to see this kind of accuracy in Frogbot at the highest skill :) Rating:
