Send
your missions for the CGF bot in to me through e-mail in a zip file so I can review
them and post them for everybody to download!

: Sorry About The Updates
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 03/08/99 Time : @455
I'm
sorry I haven't updated the site in a few days because I've been
busy playing Action
Half-Life. I've added some new missions to the mission
scripts section. I've also added a mailing list
section of the site. I'm currently looking for a java
script mouse on script for the site so when the mouse goes over
a link it changes into another image. If anyone can send
me one, please e-mail
it to me.

I've
added 1 new mission and updated versions of UTA and Drugman.
You can now join my mailing list below which will tell you when
the site updates, when there's new missions etc. BTW
Action Half-Life rocks! Anyway, see you all tommorow.

: Matrix Competition And New Missions
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 30/07/99 Time : @480
I've
added 4 new missions in the mission
scripts area. I've also added a temporary Matrix
section to the site which will give you information on the
competition so if you haven't seen the move so you can still
enter. I've had one mission so far, but it's only been 1
day. Action Half-Life
was released last night, and looks awesome! Unfortunately
I downloaded it and the file didn't work, so I'll have to
re-download it again later on. Can anyone e-mail
me the maps named dirt and facility for Action
Quake 2? I'd especially like to have the facility one
because I can't get them from the Map
Depot and the Mapzone
isn't accessible right now. Also, can anyone tell me some
good maps/mods for use in Half-Life for 1 V 1 games? I
have a pc to pc network and I'd like to try out some new mods/maps
over it in Half-Life.

: 7 New Route Files
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 29/07/99 Time : @447
I've
added another mission to the
site and 7 new route files.
David (The author of the Action Quake 2 Warehouse) is going to
help me out with this site by doing reviews, and he'll be taking
over the route files
section. It will probably be sometime over the weekend
when he starts updating the site. I need some help from
all of you out there. Could any of you tell me how to play
Quake 2 2 player (The mod) with the second player using a Microsoft
sidewinder game pad. Please e-mail
me. If you don't know how to do that could anyone please
tell me the command to turn off the mouse COMPLETELY in Quake
2. I've also setup a competition. The Matrix is one
of my favorite films of all time so if you haven't saw it yet,
go see it NOW! The competition is to see who can make the
best Matrix mission for CGF. It can take place on any map,
but if it's on a map which has no route file on this site yet
please send me the route file with the mission. I'll give
everyone until September the 1st (About 1 month) to get their
missions in. Also, don't name the mission that you're
making "Matrix" or "The Matrix" because then
there will be too many missions which will have the same
name. The same goes for the name/names of the mission file
(The .cgf file).
P.S
Action Half-Life is released tonight!

: New Route Files And A New Map
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 28/07/99 Time : @521
If
you head over to the route files section there's 5 new route
files. There's also one new mission for the city
map. I'd like to say that a author of another CGF site is
joining forces with me to help out with this site, and in my
opinion his site is the best competition I have. He will
do some reviews of missions for me and he'll be taking over the
route files section. I've fixed all of the links on the
urban mission scripts page now, I'm sorry about that. I
didn't put the http:// before the link files. Anyway, I'll
tell you the person who's going to help me out with the site tomorrow.

: The Site Is Now Hosted At Bot Epidemic
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 27/07/99 Time : @757
Yeah,
that's right, the site is now hosted by the same people who host
the actual CGF site. I've also changed some things around
the site and I've made a new button as well. I've put a
lot of work into the downloads section so you get a choice of an
installation file or a .zip file. Also, there's now a
guide on how to make your own routes for the CGF bot on the route
files page, and a ready made Team Jungle route. The
new address for the site is http://www.botepidemic.com/cgf_resource_site
but the old address which is http://surf.to/cgf_resource_site
still works as well. I've also changed my main e-mail
address to maniacuk@telefragged.com
but the old one will still work. I'd like to thank
the great people who have helped me out with the hosting, Ze0,
Slade etc. There are many new missions on the mission
scripts page for download now, so go check it out. I'd
also like you all to go through all of the pages on the site
now, because I've added a lot more to them. Now you can
also post your messages on my forum
to tell me what you think, and take part in the voting poll.
If you find any links broken, please e-mail
me and I'll fix it straight away.

: New Forum
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 24/07/99 Time : @539
Great
news! My site has been mentioned on the Action Quake 2
site in the news update. Go and check it out here.
Also, I've now added a forum
to the site which can be accessed by the new button on the left
hand side of each page of the site. I'm still sorting out
the downloads so you can download a .zip file or an installation
file so you get a choice, so that should be done by tomorrow
because it's taking me a while and I go out Saturday's a lot and
Saturday nights, so I'll finish it off tomorrow. There's a
guy who's Brazilian who has made a CGF site, but he seems to
think he's the only foreign guy on the net (Only joking
m8). I'm English and I'm only 14, so I don't want people
saying "I'm only 14 and want people to visit my site,
please help me". I'll post a link if I think it's
worthy or not, that's the way it is like all other sites. Also,
I need someone to make an animated button for the site with
the words CGF : Resource Site on it. You'll get full
credit for doing it of course. If you make an animated
button for the site, please send me an animated version and a
static version through e-mail to Maniac@masterquaker.freeserve.co.uk

: The Site Has Changed
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 23/07/99 Time : @682
I
could post another 5 missions today, but I'm not going
too. They will be posted soon. I'm changing the way
mission files are downloaded on the site, you will have a choice
of a .zip file or an installation program like there is
now. Also, each .bat file will have the map in front so
you know which map it's for, so if you're going to play urban
streets the launch file will be named urban_streets. I've
also changed some more stuff on the site so it now looks
better. There are now borders and a new picture in the
java applet in the top right of this page. I may have the
new files done for tomorrow, but more realistically Sunday
because I've broken up from school for 6 weeks now, so it's
party time!
IMPORTANT
: Is there anyone out there who would be so kind as to write a
mission script making tutorial that I could post on the site
(With screenshots)? You'll get full credit of course.
This would help many people because I've had so many e-mails
about the subject. By the way, all of you who think that
it's anything to do with coding your wrong, it's just a text
file saved in a different format.

you get full credit. Please read

do go out a lot and that's why I've asked all of you to help

6 New Missions And One New Review
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 21/07/99 Time : @732
There's 6 more
missions to be downloaded on the Mission
Scripts page. There's also a new review
been done by Ivory Knight, a good friend of mine. Thanks
m8! I've also got a new image for the index
page of the site, which looks better than my main image
because of the same image in the Java applet above (It used to
be). If anyone things that they can do better and make
some great images for the site with the words CGF
: Resource Site on it, please feel free to go ahead and
make it, and then e-mail
it to me, and if it's good enough I'll use it on the
site. Also, I've noticed that the site's reached 1000
hits, so thanks to everyone out there who visits this site
regularly, bookmark it now with Ctrl + D! Please read

New Missions For The City Map
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 20/07/99 Time : @738
I've uploaded 2
new missions for the City map on the Mission
Scripts page, and I've also changed the way the missions
are set out for easier download. I don't really want to
make any "big" changes to the site right now, but if
I do, it'll be when I move the site to Bot
Epidemic. I've also added a CGF Launcher with the
links to the files on the CGF
Launchers page, is there any competition for Ross Norton's
piece launcher out there?

Removal Of Old News And New Pages To The Site
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 19/07/99 Time : @716
As you can see,
I've removed the old news from this page which can be seen here.
I've just this second received some more missions for upload,
and I'm going to get some more later on tonight, off one of my
friends, 38 special. This is the first update I've done
without posting any new missions so I hope your not disappointed,
but there'll be some more tomorrow. I need people to
review the unreviewed missions on the mission scripts page, so
if you want to help me out by doing this, use this file as a
template and change it by putting in your e-mail,
your score out of 10 etc. and then e-mail
it to me and I'll post it on the site! There are now 2 new
buttons down the left hand side if every page of the site, submit
your review, and submit
your mission which should help me and you out a bit.

New Reviews And Missions
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 18/07/99 Time : @869
Go to the missions
scripts section now for 3 new reviews. The site is
nearly hosted now, so fingers crossed, it should be the middle
of the week. There's a new version of CGF available
that's compatible with the city map, so look out for some new
missions for the city map soon. Tails has reviewed Face
Off for me, and I've reviewed Urban Streets and Teamplay.
Head over to the Miscellaneous
section for the new version of the bot. There's also 3
new missions available for the Urban map.

Topic : MORE New Missions
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 16/07/99 Time : @746
Go to the missions
scripts section now for 2 new missions! I will be reviewing a lot of the
unreviewed missions over the weekend, because if I do it then, it'll give me more time to
take screenshots etc. I will also be doing a review of how the bots play on the
urban map using the included route file that comes with CGF 0.77 beta. Look out for
that over at the route files section of the site.
Also, if all goes well, the CGF : Resource Site should be hosted by the end of the weekend
by Bot Epidemic.
P.S I almost forgot, the mission named
"Drug Lords" is very unstable but looks excellent. You have been warned.

Topic : New Missions And
Reviews!
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 14/07/99 Time : @735
Head over to the mission scripts section for 2 new missions complete with
reviews! I will be adding to the reviews shortly... Anyway, I'm currently getting
the site hosted at Bot Epidemic, so thanks
Ze0! Also, I'm currently recruiting 2 of my friends (1 of them I used to play in a
clan named RA with) to help me out with reviewing stuff and updating the site, so look out
for there reviews soon! I think I'm going to add a few more pages to the site on my
next update, for submitting your own mission scripts and a review area. Look out for
these new things soon. Also, I've decided that all of the scripts that are download
from here will be in installshield form, including the 2 new missions above, with
shortcuts added to the start bar so you can launch your missions from there!

Topic : Thanks HitmanDaz
And Release Of CGF 0.77 Beta
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 08/07/99 Time : @384
I'd like to thank HitmanDaz
because I've used his SAS model all over the site for artwork, and for giving the Quake 2
community a great model! BTW good luck on the Dungeon Keeper 2 sales, I may buy it.
If you haven't heard, CGF 0.77 beta is now available for download and is awesome!
These bots have excellent routes, and that plays a part in their actions, which is
excellent. They even scout the area! Head over to the miscellaneous section to
grab a copy!

Topic: CGF : Resource Site
Opens!
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 08/07/99 Time : @335
Would everyone please read yesterdays news
below if you haven't already. I'd like to thank the author of the SAS model for
Action Quake, because obviously I've used his work a lot. I will be changing the
look of some of the things around here soon, so keep your eyes peeled. I'd like to
thank the author of CGF, William Van Der
Sterren who made the bot, and CGF all together. I'd also like to mention that this
site is unofficial at the moment, but there isn't a official resource site as yet so he
may pick this site to be it, because I don't know of any other CGF sites. If you know of any please e-mail me. I've added a
picture of the week section which will contain a picture of CGF in action. I'd like
all of you to get taking screenshots and sending them in to me so I can use it as picture
of the day, credit will be given.
P.S Remember, I need people that can
help me out with the site (Updating and more importantly reviewing the missions, how the
bots play on each map etc.) Please e-mail me if you have any questions
and read below for more information.
Cheers

Topic: CGF : Resource Site
Opens!
Updated by : Maniac
Date : 06/07/99 Time : @651
The CGF : Resource Site has opened!
This site will contain in the near future when the bot is released, everything you'll need
(Mission Scripts, models etc.) to make your gaming experience with the Computer Generated Forces bot an excellent
experience. If you have any questions on the bot (BTW if you didn't know, CGF is an Action Quake 2 bot), any general questions, or
want to congratulate me on my website design or anything I've done at all just drop me an e-mail. I'd like to thank
William Van Der Sterren for all of his help (After all, he is the other of CGF, and I've
chatted with him quite a bit). If ANYONE would like to help me run this
site, with reviews of the scripts, maps, updating the site etc. please e-mail me. You'll need some Action Quake 2 and HTML experience (Even simple
things like using FrontPage).
Cheers
